Over medium heat, melt the butter/ghee/palm shortening.
Slowly add in the flour while rapidly mixing with a whisk or fork.
Very slowly, pour in the broth while whisking rapidly. Try to fully mix each pour of liquid before adding more. If needed, turn up the heat slightly to help mix in the broth.
When broth is fully incorporated, lower to medium and add in the spices, continuing to stir, switching to a wooden spoon if you'd like.
When it is salted to your liking, turn off the heat and enjoy!
