Meatball sub casserole is like a deconstructed meatball sub, baked to perfection for a delicious, easy-to-serve meal. Comfort food meals are my favorite so I am excited to bring you this quick 5 ingredient recipe!

Ingredients
  

  • 24 oz. jar of marinara sauce split
  • 6 slices gluten free sandwich bread see above for more options or use your favorite
  • 1.5 lb small meatballs see above for more options or use your favorite
  • 8 slices provolone cheese split
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese split

Instructions
 

  • In a 2.5 QT casserole dish, spread a thin layer of sauce on the bottom of the dish, about 1-2 tablespoons.
  • Place 4 slices of bread on the bottom, breaking it up as needed to fill in the gaps.
  • Cover it with the meatballs, half the sauce, half the cheeses, another layer of sauce, and the rest of the cheese.
  • Bake in the oven until everything is thoroughly heated through and the cheese is melted, about 30 minutes. Note that if the meatballs are cooked from frozen it will take longer!
