    Smothered Pork Chops

If you'd like more skillet dinners, check out this Feta Baked Chicken! It's so creamy and delicious and a perfect fancy at home dinner!

    Ingredients Needed

    Ingredients Needed
    • Olive Oil
    • Pork Chops
    • Butter or Ghee
    • Onions
    • Mushrooms
    • Garlic
    • Broth
    • Salt
    • Pepper

    Swaps and Variations

    • Use ground beef and make Gluten Free Salisbury Steak!
    • You can use Ghee or even more olive oil in place of the butter, making this dish not only gluten free, but also dairy free!
    • Use any broth you'd like! You can also make your own slow cooker broth.

    How to Make

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Start by dredging the pork chops in flour, fully coating both sides. Sear the pork chops for 2-3 minutes per side, to give it a nice crust. Note that it's not fully cooked yet! Set aside and wipe out the pan.

    Sear the pork chops

Next add the butter or ghee to the pan. Add the mushrooms, garlic, and onions and sauté it for approximately 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently until everything is softened.

    Sauté the veggies

Add the flour to the pan slowly and stir to coat the veggie mixture.

Slowly, stir in the broth little by little, allowing the mixture to thicken between additions.

Finally, add back in the pork chops and keep it at a low boil, until the the pork chops are finished! The internal temperature should reach 145F.

    Storage and Reheating

For leftover pork chops and sauce, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

To reheat them you can use the microwave, but my preferred method is to place them inside an ovens safe dish and heat at 300-350F until the desired temperature is reached.

    Pairing Suggestions

    • My absolute favorite way to serve this recipe is with Whole30 Mashed Potatoes! So creamy and delicious and the gravy on top of them are just perfection!
    • Serve with a nice side salad, such as Raspberry Kale Salad or Strawberry Goat Cheese Salad!
    • Serve this over egg noodles! For a gluten free egg noodle, this is a good option!
