This creamy Italian dressing is a delicious way to sneak in extra protein, thanks to a secret boost from blended cottage cheese or Greek yogurt. It's rich, tangy, and perfect for drizzling over salads or using as a dip.

    Ingredients Needed

    Ingredients Needed
    • Mayonnaise
    • Ricotta or Cottage Cheese
    • White Wine Vinegar
    • Coconut Sugar
    • Black Pepper
    • Salt
    • Garlic Powder
    • Italian Seasoning
    • Red Onion
    • Parsley

How to Make Creamy Italian Dressing

It doesn't get much simpler than this-simply add all of the ingredients into a mason jar, and blend with an immersion blender!

Combine all ingredients in a mason jar

Alternatively, you can place everything in a regular blender to blend it, you'll just have to occasionally scrape the sides down to make sure everything mixes in. Keep some avocado oil, ricotta, or mayonnaise on hand if you need liquid to blend everything.

    Storage and Reheating

I love making dips ahead of time so when I cook dinner, it's one less thing to do! Make this dip 3-5 days in advance and store it in the fridge in an airtight container.

    Equipment Needed

You'll need a knife and cutting board to rough chop the veggies.

I always recommend a mason jar so you can store the dip right in there after it's finished.

Finally you'll need a good immersion blender! You can use a regular blender too, but an immersion blender works best.

    Top Tips

Don't skip the coconut sugar! I know it may seem like an odd addition, but it really works! Most creamy Italian dressings will call for sugar, but let's keep the glycemic index lower by using coconut sugar.

Make this a few hours ahead of time so it has time so chill in the fridge-it'll thicken up a bit in there!

    Uses For This Dressing

    • Serve it over delicious Italian Sausage Bowls!
    • Make a greens salad and serve it with this dressing.
    • Set this out with a veggie tray as the main dip!
What's the difference between Italian dressing and creamy Italian dressing?

Regular Italian Dressing is typically more of a vinaigrette, and has a liquid consistency. Creamy Italian dressing however, has a thicker, cream like consistency. It can be less tangy and a bit more sweeter sometimes.

What to add to a dressing to make it creamy?

To make a dressing creamy, you'd typically start with a creamy base of mayonnaise, sour cream, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, or something similar.
